What’s the matter? You don’t like the idea of a young new Senator in office for only a few years running for President?
Did you watch Scott Brown’s victory speech? it’s clear that President Obama has just been introduced to a white man who can jump. Brown stuffed the President not once but twice in that victory speech--and that was after the President called him to congratulate him. Looks like Scotty can run that pickup truck on his own spit.
Can it be too early to say “Sarah who?”
Oddly enough, the only thing special about Scott Brown is that he really isn’t that special at all. Most Americans know guys who are or have been in the military. Most Americans know guys who drive pick up trucks. And, more importantly, most Americans appreciate what has been our bread and butter for 234 years: fiscal responsibility, strong national defense, and appreciation of traditional values.
Throughout those 234 years both Democrats and Republicans have danced around the almighty triad of American principle. But it’s been hard to find anyone from any party able to articulate it all the way Scott Brown has.
This is Scott Brown’s victory. It belongs to no one else. This victory wasn’t the result of “activism”. This victory is the result of Americanism.
Much has been made of the independent vote in the Brown victory. But keep in mind many of these “independents” were Democrats in 2008. Many of these “independents” had permanent holes in their yards reserved for Kennedy signs.
But while it’s clear some Democrats and Independents appreciated Brown, starved and mislead Conservatives--tired of the team of undertaker looking Republicans now in power-- may have finally found their guy. Abortion? Okay. So the guy thinks like Giuliani. He’s pro-life but doesn’t think overturning Roe vs. Wade solves it. That’s relaxing, not disturbing.
It’s a new day. Conservatives not only have a guy who once offered to die for us, but he’s upholding values of the other guys--234 years ago--who were also laying their lives on the line. I don’t know about you, but I’m looking for a good old game of one on one between him and you know who in 2012.
